Pullman Kuala Lumpur City Centre: Hotel Review

Kuala Lumpur (KL) was my destination of choice for a weekend sojourn a couple of weeks back. Getting there was easy, as KL was a 1h flight away, although it took about another 1h to get from KLIA2 to the city centre.

Bukit Bintang is the main shopping belt in KL, and staying in that area is always a good idea for those of us who like to shop and eat. The Pullman Kuala Lumpur City Centre (Pullman KLCC in short) was well-positioned; located just across the road behind the Pavilion mall, and connected to it by an overhead link-bridge.

Checking in was a pretty smooth process. Needless to say, it was a pleasant surprise when the front-desk associate informed us that the room was ready, despite us arriving around 10.30am, while the official check-in time was at 2pm.

Pullman KLCC – Main Lobby

I liked the airy and spacious main lobby, although I do think that there could have been more comfortable lounge seating for guests waiting to check-in and check-out. There were also quite a number of lifts leading up to the hotel rooms (6 if I recall correctly), and we never had to wait long for the lift during our stay at the Pullman KLCC.

Superior Room

I stayed in a Superior Room (524.70RM incl. breakfast), which had a lot of open space for laying out my luggage. Although it was on a high floor, there was not much of a view.

The following amenities were provided in the room:

  • Bath towels, bath robes & bathing lotions
  • Electric kettle & coffee/tea sachets
  • In-room safe deposit box
  • 2x bottled water (replenished daily)
  • TV
  • In-room slippers
  • Standing shower
  • Bathtub

Superior Room – Ensuite Bathroom

The bathroom was huge to say the least, and it was nearly half the size of the entire room. There was both a standing shower as well as a soaking tub. The room slippers were also very comfortable and were just the right thing to slip my feet into at the end of a long day of walking/shopping/eating.

Fitness Centre & Swimming Pool

The fitness centre was located a short walk away, as it was in another wing. It shares a space with the swimming pool, and in fact, it was just beside the pool. You could literally finish a run, rinse yourself and towel off, before jumping right into the pool for a few cool-down laps!

The fitness centre, though small, was well-equipped, and had 2 treadmills, 2 exercise bikes, 1 ell

The breakfast buffet was served every morning at the restaurant next to the hotel lobby, and I really liked the wide variety of food on offer.

What really caught my attention though, was the fresh fruit juice station, which not many hotels have. Two thumbs up for them!

Overall Impression:

I found the Pullman Kuala Lumpur City Centre to be a very comfortable hotel, and it was also very conveniently located in the shopping belt of Bukit Bintang. Besides the usual hotel facilities such as the gym and pool, it actually also has a play room open to hotel guests as well! However, I did not spend any time there, hence will not be reviewing it this time around!
