HOW MY BLOG STARTED

I started writing my blog back in July 2016, a few months before my 2016 Walt Disney World trip. It is safe to say that I became a tad addicted to Disney based blogs with tips and planning help, as well as watching countless YouTube videos with the same themes. I was hooked, but I really fancied giving it a go myself. I knew I was going to have lots to say and talk about when I got back from my trip, so decided to start it up. I was so shocked to see that there was in fact this huge blogging community, especially on twitter, and as cringe as this sounds, I have made some fab online friends though it! I never considered myself a good writer, but I really enjoy it, and I aim to continue as long as it stays that way.

Back at University I started up a theatre based blog, but never really stuck with it, so I wanted to also include aspects of that in this one. Every time I see any piece of theatre I always have so much to say and I can now do that through writing things out on my blog. So far, I have written over 50 posts, and am really proud of that considering how busy life can be! Some have done super well, others not so much, and that’s ok.

ADVICE TO NEW BLOGGERS

I wouldn’t call myself a pro blogger, but I have learnt a few things. I do think picking some kind of a theme is important, as it allows you to gear your blog to a certain audience, keeps your blog focused and means you can interact within a certain community based on similar interests. However, I wouldn’t say you need to be completely restrictive as you can blog about anything you want and people will still read it. I think as well do not be afraid to try something a little bit different with your blog if the opportunity arises. As long as you enjoy what you are writing, that is the main thing!
